ReplyDeleteYes they are, but they were sweeter in the spring.
DeleteOh I love fresh figs and fig jam too, which I once made.
ReplyDeleteWe made fig jam this year, it's great with brie on some crusty bread.
Deletebrie with figs and crusty bread.... that sounds like a great combo
DeleteWe have a small on that did not give us any figs this year. I hope one day to have many figs from it.
ReplyDeleteThey grow fast Meredith, you'll have figs in a year or two.
Deletelol... when I first read the headline I though it said Fall Flags! I had never had fresh figs until I moved south... much better then fig newtons!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I didn't know they came any other way until I moved here either. lol.
Deletemy favorite fruit ever! I used to do production pottery for a potter that had fig trees. At lunch we would all take a break and go pick figs when they were in season, for our lunch. Sooo great just off the tree!
ReplyDeleteOh Tracey, that sounds really nice. This one is by the mailbox so I get to pick some fruit whenever I get the mail.
