Funky Functional Casseroles
Here are a few of casserole dishes I threw. I decided to play with them a little and really like the result. I just think they are fun and interesting. After they are glazed they'll go to Macon, GA for Fired Works.

mmmm mmmm delicious!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gary, now if I can only figure out how to make lids for these...;-)
DeleteI like their uniqueness.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda, I'm hoping they will look even better when they are glazed.
DeleteThey look great, love the shapes. it's so hard to make covers for odd shaped dishes (at least for me!). I sometimes have to make three or more before I am happy with how one fits. Jeff went to the Potters Conference this weekend and saw a demo done by Martha Grover on covers for altered forms and he is going to attempt to teach me this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michele, I was actually kidding about the lids for these. They were made to be open casseroles. I know how to make lids for ovals & squares, I would assume it's the same for other shapes too. I can't wait to see what comes from your lessons with Jeff.
DeleteI love open dishes for serving- confession - I rarely cook in pottery but love a dish that is served in pottery.
ReplyDeleteThese would be perfect for so many things.
Thanks Meredith, they would be great as serving dishes, even if the food wasn't prepared in them, or as fruit bowls...Of course I can picture some cinnamon rolls in one of these right now.
