Ahh, Vacation

You may be wondering where I've been hiding lately.  Nope, I didn't fall off the face of the Earth, I took a working vacation.  The show was on St. Simmon's Island, GA which is a beautiful location and although the show could have gone much better the vacation was wonderful.
We rented a carriage house that overlooked a tranquil marsh.  In the evening we heard the fish jumping in the water. In the mornings and after the show we spent many hours watching the water fowl as they shared the marsh.  It is a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine.  After a day of holding down the tent against the ocean breeze (read gale force winds) it was a joy to relax in the sunken hot tub on the deck with yet another bottle of wine.
When we left the island we took a trip to the Okefenokee Swamp which was lots of fun.  On the way there I got some pictures of old farm buildings to paint on plates for the series I'm creating and got to see some interesting plants and other wildlife.  It was such a joy to see butterflies after such a long and dreary winter.   Of course the alligators where hanging out in the swamp also so we were very careful where we walked.
