Weekend with Debra Fritts
One of the advantages to being a resident artist at Mudfire is that I get to audit all the workshops. This month the workshop was with Debra Fritts. Check out the review here. I'll just say it was a fantastic workshop, even for a non-sculptor.
I used some of her ideas for surface decoration on a couple of plates that I am making for the Archetectural series. I'm excited to see how they look when they come out of the kiln. I'll get pictures posted right away if they are good. Of course I'll share the technique with you.
I got all of my pieces finished and into the kiln last night, now I'm just waiting to get them out then wrapped up. I'm ready to head down to the Art & Sol Festival next weekend.
Last week I made Linda Starr's Tornado Prawns. I have to say they are wonderful. Thanks for the recipe Linda.

I worked as an apprentice at Art Center West for two years -- and was able to take a couple of classes with her -- Debra is everything you say & more -- a true teacher!
ReplyDeletewow, thanks, I am so glad you like the recipe, I just threw the ingredients together, and amazed myself, ha. can't wait to see your architectural plates out of the kiln. I hope to get back into taking a few workshops in the future as things gets settle for me.
